Aloha November 11, 1951 — May 11, 2019 William (Lee) Lee Quimby passed away on May 11, 2019, at his home in Aloha, Oregon, at the age of 67 years old, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born on November 11, 1951, to John and Clara Quimby. He grew up in Pendleton, Oregon, and graduated from Pendleton High School in 1970.

AT&T Call Center bargaining wraps up in 5 days! The bargaining teams from the three represented centers worked in unison along with the assistance of negotiators from the International Office and IBEW Local 21 to get the job done. Each of the 5 days brought meetings with the company and then long nights with the bargaining teams reviewing the day and prepping for the following day.
IBEW - AT&T DIRECTV Call Center Tentative Agreement Highlights
05/14/19 - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 21
On Friday, May 10, 2019 the IBEW System Council T-3 (SCT-3) and AT&T/DIRECTV reached a tentative agreement on a new four-year contract covering employees working for the company in DIRECTV call centers. The new tentative agreement must be voted on and accepted by the members of the IBEW. The IBEW SCT-3 will present the contract to its members over the next few weeks through a series of meetings and other communications. After reviewing the new contract we feel our members will agree with the officers and delegates of the IBEW SCT-3 and vote to accept the tentative agreement. The highlights are as follows:

IBEW & AT&T Reach New National DIRECTV Call Center Agreement
05/10/19 - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 21
Friday, May 10, 2019 11:30pm (CDT) - The IBEW System Council T-3 (SCT-3) and AT&T/DIRECTV reached a tentative agreement on a new four-year contract covering approximately 1,650 employees working for the company nationwide in DIRECTV call centers in Boise, ID, Chicago, IL, and Missoula, MT.  The new tentative agreement must be voted on and accepted by the members of the IBEW.

IBEW 21 and Lake County, IN 911 Emergency Center Negotiations
05/08/19 - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 21
May   8, 2019 – The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 21(IBEW 21) and the Lake County, Indiana 911 Dispatch Center agreed to “accelerated bargaining” to renegotiate their collective bargaining agreement for Dispatch center employees that is set to expire on July 31, 2019. Local 21 and Lake County agreed to bargain in good faith, in an attempt to reach an agreement for Dispatchers at Lake County Emergency Center during these “accelerated” negotiations. There are several issues that require discussion and immediate attention to achieve the best possible agreement for the Emergency Center and IBEW 21 members.

May 5, 2019 – The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers IBEW System Council T-3 (IBEW SCT-3) and AT&T/DirecTV have agreed to begin “early bargaining" to renegotiate their collective bargaining agreement for “DirecTV” call center employees that is set to expire on August 24, 2019.

The Beginning...

Henry Miller, the first President of the IBEW, died in 1896 without enough money for a decent burial.  Miller was not alone.  In the early part of the 20th century accidental electrocution among people employed in the electrical industry occurred with such frequency that many insurance companies refused to insure the lives of electrical workers.

Our Local union is proud to offer, on an annual basis, the IBEW Local Union 21 Scholarship Program, available to all IBEW Local Union 21 members and their immediate family. Each year, our Local awards up to ten winners scholarships of $1000 each.

Port Signs First Ever Project Labor Agreement On Monday night, December 10, 2018, the Oxnard Harbor District Board of Commissioners took a historic step in signing a Project Labor Agreement. The first of its kind in the Port’s 81-year history, the Project Labor Agreement (PLA) will ensure local labor for all Port projects estimated at or over $250,000.

IN MEMORIAM KEVIN  “Biggin” HOUCK Kevin Houck was born July 1969 and joined the Company in June of 1995 as a Journeyman Lineman.    He worked his entire career in the Lines Department as a Lineman.  Kevin passed away unexpectedly March 19th in his home. Kevin leaves a tremendous void.
